iPass Open Mobile for iOS works with the native Wi-Fi settings in iOS to connect users to the Internet. Users have to connect to the Wi-Fi network through iOS Wi-Fi settings before they log in using the Open Mobile app. This process is also outlined in the Open Mobile app's Wi-Fi page.

There are three main buttons on the dashboard with an options button in the top right corner. The three main buttons can be tapped to take you to more pages with more details, described in the following steps. They represent your current connection (the Connection Manager), your past connections (the Usage Meter) and your future connections (the Hotspot Finder).
Connection Manager
Open Mobile displays available networks and their signal strength. The list is refreshed every 15 seconds. To connect or disconnect from a network, simply tap on it.
Usage Meter
There are three pages in the Usage Meter section.
Open Mobile for Android includes a Hotspot Finder that allows users to locate iPass Wi-Fi hotspots anywhere in the world.
Users can enter a location in the search box or tap the List nearby hotspots button for a list of hotspots and their locations.
The Hotspot Finder requires an internet connection to function.
First install the TelenetConnect software by Telenet/iPass onto your computer, BlackBerry® smartphones, iPod touch, iPhone, iPad of Android smartphone. All the information you need to download the software is provided in the confirmation e-mail you’ll receive once your subscription has been confirmed.
Start the software and enter your login which comes with the confirmation e-mail.
The software establishes a secure connection for login and authentication, using a safe SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Tunnel for optimum end-to-end protection.
Once connected to the Internet, you can transfer as much data as you like for as long as you want, without additional charges.
